Dec 9th
Today was a miserable day with torrential downpours this morning. I wanted to go to Planting Fields Arboretum to take some pictures of the floral displays. L. and A. joined me. We couldn't get in to the Camellia house but the winter flowering ones were flowering outside.
We then went to the greenhouses. The flowers were beautiful and the smell was MMMMMM so inviting!
Orchids ...

Barrel Head Cactus

Adorable Poinsettias...
A banana plant with it's doo-hickey hanging!
These Poinsettias were really pretty and also interesting

We had a really nice time. It was great to get out and do something spontaneous.
After going to the see all the beautiful flowers, we took a detour and I got to show the girls where we used to live in Old Westbury. The property was sold and the main house was knocked down. They built all new HUGE houses on the property. It's like it's its own development. The only thing left from before the sale is the house we used to live in. It's probably about 150 years old now! It sits in the back of the property.
When we got home the sun was shining and it felt like 60 degrees!!!

Today was spent straightening up etc. I made the Chicken Chili that we sampled at Long Point Winery over the weekend. We liked it there so hopefully this will be just as good. It says on the recipe that it's best the next day so that will be tomorrow's dinner. DONE!!!
