Dec 6th

We decided to take a ride to Wagner Winery on Seneca Lake before the events started on Cayuga Lake.

The west side of the street with the water from Ithaca Falls leading towards the town.

Ithaca Falls (on the east side of the street) with the Suspension Bridge that's on the Cornell Campus

When we got to Goosewatch Winery, we went outside to have our sandwiches that we got from Sauder's , the Mennonite store this morning. These things were HUGE! I only ate 1/4 of mine!

We went to the Ladies Lioness Holiday Fair in Newfield. We saw Terie who we met last year. She recognized us right away and greeted us with a giant hug! She's a really nice person. She was selling her photos and cards made from her photos. She photographs landscapes, animals, flowers etc from all over her 32 acre property in Newfield. They are absolutely beautiful pictures. She asked us if we stopped at Wegmans yet and we said we're there every day for breakfast. She told us that sometimes her and her husband will get the pasta dinners there and sit up in the cafe in their "date night seats" next to the player piano where Santa is sitting!
Terie invited us to stay with her and her husband in their UN B & B whenever we come up. That was very nice of her but that would be a bit awkward.

Dec 5th

Every morning we would go to Wegmans and get breakfast. We sit upstairs in the cafe that overlooks part of the store. PJ called from work about the expected snow to make sure everything was covered. HELLOOOOO You're on VACATION!!! He was pacing back and forth as he was going over things with his boss. He's at least entertaining to watch!
We then started on our drive back to the top of the lake to start at the 2nd highest winery, Swedish Hill. We took our time and drove around Cayuga Heights for a bit. We found this deer in front of someone's house.

Swedish Hill
This guy wouldn't leave us alone. He was like a little annoying leprechaun! This guy was smashed on his second winery. What was HE drinking that we weren't? It turned out that he was on a tour bus (#37 to be exact) and they were all drinking beer in between winery stops. WHO DOES THAT?

We had such a fun day. Between the wine tastings and the food samples and the fun people, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Dec 4th

We arrived in Ithaca around noon, just about the time the Friday's events start. We had to check in to Montezuma Winery as our first stop and to pick up out glasses, wreath and ornaments that come with the cost. Montezuma is the very 1st winery at the top of the lake so we had to drive another hour! We had our samples of food and wine... nothing too impressive.
Montezuma is a weird winery. They hardly have any wines that are made from grapes. They have rhubarb, strawberry, apple, and they do a lot with honey. On to Long Point on the eastern side of the lake, then on to King Ferry. We always look forward to going to King Ferry, not because of the wine but because of sweet Malva... the now 94 year old greeter of the winery events! I wish she was part of our family! She's a wonderful lady! We always take her picture and mail her a copy. I heard that we're not the only ones who do that!
Our 4th and last stop for the day is Six Mile Creek Winery. It's very close to the hotel and a ton of restaurants so it was a perfect spot to relax. We bought a bottle of Seyval and sat outside and enjoyed the sunset over the grape vines.
PJ was so happy that they gave him a free canvas wine tote because he bought the bottle of wine! The simple things in life make him happy!

People thought we were crazy for sitting out there but it wasn't THAT cold!
We ate dinner at The Rose.

Dec 3rd
I worked today. It was a fun day. It was 65 degrees today! What is going on????
I finished packing etc for our trip tomorrow. We're going to the Cayuga lake Wine Trail's Holiday Event! PJ's been counting down the days... FOR A MONTH!!!

Dec 2nd

I can't believe how beautiful the weather is. It's in the upper 50's today!
